Hello Bookish People! I am sure you have heard of Miracle Creek already as it has been taking the US by storm -it was released there earlier than the UK- and everyone on Instagram & Twitter was buzzing about it!

It’s one of the most interesting books I have read this year, that is packed with the emotions of the characters and made you feel “what If I was he/she” whilst I read it. It is mainly a courtroom drama,  with slow and excellent character building, and looks at the aftermath of an explosion in an experimental treatment facility called Miracle Submarine.

Miracle Submarine is a place of hope, where parents bring their children in hopes of them to be “normal”.  The main focus is the Korean Immigrant family, Yoo’s, who run the facilities, and the single mum who is accused of plotting the explosion to kill her son. It is heartbreaking. The reveals and the emotional load of the book makes it an unforgettable read. It is a slow start, due to the strange concept of “Treatment Facility” the first 40-50 pages I had to really focus to grab what was going on, but once the story took it’s natural pace, it became unputdownable. Surprised to see this is a debut!

Would recommend this read if you like courtroom cases with excellent character development, and the whole thing feels so real, I wondered if it’s based on real events!
